Clover Time Complete Beginner Guide & First Steps
Everything a new Clover Time player needs to know on Day 1: starting village quests, rolling your first grimoire, basic combat controls, and key stat allocations.
1. Spawning in Hage Village & Tutorial Quests
When you first spawn into Clover Time, you start in Hage Village near the Church. Do not immediately sprint into the deep wilderness—speak with Father Orsi right outside the church door to accept the starter quest "Village Chores". Defeating 5 Wild Boars right outside the village boundary will propel you straight from Level 1 to Level 10, rewarding you with your first batch of Gold and 5 Grimoire Spins.
- Bind your dash key to Left Shift or Q for quick evasion.
- Double-tap Space to execute a high jump over terrain obstacles.
2. Obtaining Your First Grimoire at the Tower
Once you reach Level 15, head east through the wooden archway following the cobblestone path toward the Grimoire Tower. Enter through the tall wooden doors and interact with the Tower Master NPC. Here, you can spend Grimoire Spins. You are guaranteed a 3-Leaf grimoire initially. If you roll Lightning, Wind, or Fire, keep it for early farming—they have high AOE clearance.
- Do not chase Mythic 4-Leaf or 5-Leaf rolls on your first day unless you have stored bonus code spins.
- A reliable 3-Leaf magic will level you twice as fast as an un-upgraded rare magic.
3. Starter Stat Distribution
Every level gives you 3 Stat Points. Distribute them strategically based on your chosen magic: For Magic Users (Fire, Wind, Lightning, Light, Time): Put 2 points in Mana and 1 point in Defense. For Melee / Anti-Magic Users: Put 2 points in Strength and 1 point in Defense. Never spread points equally across all 4 stats early on, as this dilutes your damage output significantly.
